Preview of the Warriors Basketball Season: Returning Starters and Exciting New Additions

The upcoming basketball season is generating excitement for Thad McCracken’s team as they boast a young but experienced squad.

 Challenges and Depth:

Coach McCracken identifies staying healthy and accepting individual roles as key challenges for the team. However, he expresses confidence in the team’s depth, which provides them with an added advantage.

 Key Players:

The Warriors have several key players who are expected to make significant contributions this season:

Tyler Deithloff, a 2nd Team All-SAA selection last year leads the charge with his scoring ability and rebounding prowess.

Colten Berry, a dominant presence in the paint will be a valuable asset as well.

Caleb Squires, who impressed in his freshman campaign aims to build on his scoring success from last season.

In addition, Daniel Cobb, after missing some games due to injury is ready to make a strong comeback.

Darvis Rasberry Jr., who was unable to play last season due to injury is eager to return to the court.

 New Additions:

The Warriors have also welcomed five new players to their team. These include guard Max Chenault, a transfer from South Eastern Oklahoma State, as well as Addison Shelton, Micah Gibbs, Ali Rasheed, and Zach Nolan. These additions are expected to enhance the team’s strength and provide valuable contributions.

 Season Opener:

The Warriors will kick off their season against the Ozark Eagles on Wednesday, November 8th at 8:00 in Grove Gymnasium. This matchup is highly anticipated as both teams split the series last season, each securing a win on their respective home courts. Notably, Daniel Cobb and Colten Berry played crucial roles in the Warriors’ victory against the Eagles in their last encounter.

In summary, the Warriors’ basketball team is set to embark on an exciting season, with returning starters bringing experience and new additions adding depth to the roster.

Overcoming challenges such as staying healthy and accepting individual roles will be vital, but Coach McCracken is optimistic about the team’s potential. The season opener against the Ozark Eagles will certainly be a game to watch.
